Obituary

Sean “John” F. Coary, 73, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at his home in Red Hill. He was the loving husband of Dorothy “Dottie” (Moors) Coary, sharing 46 years of marriage together.

Born in Belfast, Ireland, he was the son of the late Bernard and Anne (Powers) Coary.

Sean was a 1966 graduate of Monsignor Bonner Catholic High School in Drexel Hill and then served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged, he was a member of the Plumbers Union, Local 690 in Philadelphia, and then went to work for Merck & Co. Inc. as a pipefitter for 32 years before retiring in 2009.

Sean was a member of St. Philip Neri R.C. Church in Pennsburg and enjoyed golfing, working on his lawn and following the stock market. However, his greatest love was for his family; especially his three grandchildren.

Surviving along with his wife are his two children, Anne Marie Amato (husband, Bart) of Robbinsville, NJ and Sean Coary of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Abbigail, Lucas and Nolan Amato; a brother, Patrick Coary; and two sisters: Noreen Turchin (husband, Andrew) and Sheila McInaw.

He is predeceased by a brother, Brian Coary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. Please offer condolences to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Glenmary Home Missions, P.O. Box 465618, Cincinnati, OH 45246-5618.
