Obituary for Shirley A. Nase (Hinkle)

Shirley A. (Hinkle) Nase, 83, of Telford Lutheran Home and formerly of Lawn Avenue, Sellersville, passed away from a brief illness at Grandview Hospital on Saturday, June 12, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late John Robert “Bob” Nase.

She was born in Sellersville, a daughter of the late John L. and Mae (Detweiler) Hinkle. Shirley graduated from Pennridge High School in 1955 and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Mrs. Nase was employed for many years as a medical secretary for many local physician practices before working the last 7 years of her career in the engineering and maintenance department at Grandview Hospital.

Shirley was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church Ridge Valley, Sellersville, PA. She was also a member of the Lutheran Community at Telford Auxiliary and Souderton Adult Activity Center.

She is survived by her children: Brook S. Nase and wife Dawn, of Perkasie; LTC (Ret) Brent R. Nase and wife Janet, of Prince George, VA; Brenda S. Moyer and husband Dale, of Tylersport; grandchildren: Andrew Nase and wife Amy, Jennifer Moyer Elliott and husband Ryan, Heather Alex and husband Chris, Rev. Phillip Nase and wife Laura, Daniel Moyer, Stephen Nase and wife Autumn, Colin Hanzlik, Megan Hanzlik Joyner and husband Evan; great-grandchildren: Olivia Nase, Ruby Nase, Adalynn Nase, Phillip Nase Jr., Penny Nase, Hailey Alex, Jacob Elliott and Connor Joyner; and a sister-in-law, Marian Hinkle, of Rockhill Community. She was preceded in death by siblings: Lorraine Detweiler, Dorothy Barndt, Paul Hinkle and Raymond Hinkle.

A Memorial Service will be held on FRIDAY, JUNE 25, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church-Ridge Valley, 910 Allentown Rd, Sellersville, PA 18960. Calling time is from 10-11 AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church at the above address. Online condolences may be offered at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
