Obituary for Squirt "W.J." Walther

Squirt “W.J.” Walther, formerly of Tylersport, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at home in Perkiomenville, PA, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 84 years old.

Born in Abington, PA, he was the son of the late Milton and Theresa (Rosenberger) Walther.

Squirt served his Country proudly and honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He later became a Millwright, working at Master Etching, AEL and retiring from Rhône-Poulenc Rorer, Inc.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1539 in Sellersville, PA. He loved traveling the United States and internationally; he embraced every new adventure. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, listening to old time country music, “un-laxing” and was an avid pool player.

Surviving are a daughter, Katharine M. Walther of Sellersville, PA and her children, Joshua, Jerrica and Míqwonisha Lea; a son, Kirk Walther and fiancé Amy (Conrad) of New Milfrod, PA and their children, Zach and Logan; and a daughter, Kym Walther-Moyer and husband, Robert (Moyer) of Perkiomenville, PA and their children, Daulton and Paxton. He is also survived by siblings, Merwin Walther, Terry Hansford, Mark Walther and wife, Janet; and his ex-wife, Anne (Dulin) Jennings. He is predeceased by two sisters, Andrea Walther and Maria Verdecchio.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 PM on Friday, February 18, 2022 at St. Philp Neri R.C. Church, 1325 Klinerd Rd., Pennsburg, PA 18073. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 AM to 12:45 PM at the church prior to mass. A burial honoring his military service will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940 on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1 PM.
