Obituary

Stanley J. Petroski, 81, of Perkiomenville, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at Pottstown Hospital-Tower Health. He was the loving husband of the late Nancy Jane (Bossert) Petroski, sharing 55 years of marriage together before her passing in 2015.

Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late Alfred and Pauline (Zukawski) Petroski.

Stanley was a proud veteran of the United States Army, a 542 Operating Engineer, and loved to sell Christmas trees in the front yard of his home during the Holiday Season with his wife, Nancy.

In his spare time, he was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, crabbing, clamming, golfing and gardening. However, above all of this, his greatest love and passion was for his family.

Surviving are four children, Alfred “Al” Petroski and his wife, Anita of Somerset County, PA; Sheryl, wife of Matthew Soffa of Bechtelsville; Tracy, wife of Christopher Jefferis of Georgetown, DE and LeeAnn, wife of John Burke of Gilbertsville; five granddaughters, Teresa, Trisha, Sarah, Leslie and Chelsea; a sister, Bonnie Ott; and a beloved labradoodle, Rummy.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Francis “Franny” Petroski.

A memorial service for Stanley will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Stretch the Ride Foundation at www.strpottstown.com to help families with the emotional and financial challenges of managing cancer treatment. After Nancy passed away from Cancer, Stanley continuously supported their mission and mad annual contributions in her name.

Our heartfelt condolences. Edie passed away on April 21 so I suspect my mom already has an appointment for Nancy to do her hair. While I never got a chance to speak to your dad very much, the times I did were always enjoyable. I remember him showing me his elk and you could just feel the excitement coming from him.

Hope all are as well as can be when dealing with the loss of a parent.

God bless.
