Obituary for Thomas J. Murtha
Thomas J. Murtha, 73, of Wilson, NC, passed away on November 7, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of Robin (Nyce) Murtha, with whom he shared fifteen years of marriage.
Born in Newark, NJ, he was a son of the late Thomas P. and Mary (Pastewaite) Murtha. Tom was employed for over 20 years as an amusement ride/ski lift supervisor and inspector for the State of New Jersey before retiring.
Tom loved collecting trains, walking on the beach in St. Martin, going to the horse races and the casino, avid music fan of Bobby Darin, The Beatles and Elvis, researching and writing the family history and most of all time spent with his grandchildren, family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons: Eric Murtha (Laura), Matthew Romano (Janette), Donald Romano (Emilee) and Robert Romano; brother, Dennis Murtha (Alice); and grandchildren: Liam Murtha, James Murtha, Paige Murtha, Sky Romano, Corbin Romano, Kyra Romano, River Romano, Dylan Romano, Owen Romano, Cole Porter and Riley Porter.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1-3 PM on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society by visiting www.cancer.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.
