Obituary for Timothy J. Laux

Timothy J. Laux, of Schwenksville, PA, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at his home at age 72. He was the husband of 48 years of Diane (Marino) Laux.

He was born on August 7, 1947, one of eight children of the late Bernard and Ruth (Geib) Laux. Tim was a graduate of St. Edward High School and University of North Carolina. After serving in the US Air Force, Tim worked in the transportation industry that concluded with a long and distinguished career with J.P. Mascaro & Sons.  

He not only took pride in his work, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in the industry. Tim was a man of many talents, but all that know him will state he was an avid fisherman with his greatest accomplishment of catching 118lb Halibut in Alaska. When he wasn’t fishing, Tim was making wine, cheese, bacon and gardening from seeds.

In addition to his wife are his children: Timothy Michael, husband of Elizabeth Laux, of Schwenksville and Katie M., wife of Brian Matys, of Gilbertsville; grandchildren: Samuel Timothy Laux and Zachary Brian, Xander Lucian, and Mia Diane Matys; siblings: Kathleen, wife of the late Robert Gutfranski, of Cleveland, OH; Bernard Laux, of Cleveland, OH; Sharon, wife of Robert Keidel, of Palm Harbor, FL; Anthony Laux, of Cleveland, OH; Annette Sinegar, of Cleveland, OH; Maureen, wife of Greg Kiesner, of Cleveland, OH; and Sister-in-Law, Claudia Laux, of Cleveland and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Laux.

A visitation for Pennsylvania friends will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA from 2-4 PM. His Funeral Mass will be held in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:30 am at St. Angela Merici R.C. Church, 20970 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, OH 44126. Friends will be received at the church an hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his memory to St. Judes Hospital for Children at www.stjude.org or the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation at https://www.nfwf.org.
