Obituary for W. Douglass Vogt

W. Douglass Vogt, 76, of Pennsburg, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020 at Parkhouse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Royersford. He was the loving husband of Patricia A. (Beck) Vogt, sharing 21 years of marriage together.

Born in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Gladys (Geiser) Vogt.

Doug was a 1961 graduate of Schwenksville High School, attended Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA and proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam, earning a Purple Heart. He worked in a clerical position for over 30 years at Merck, Sharpe and Dohme.

He attended Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Barto and enjoyed vacationing with family in Ocean City, NJ. He loved being with family and spending lots of time with his grandchildren. He always loved to watch Kyle and Conner race quarter midgets and Doug and Ben always enjoyed playing with his model trains.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his two sons, James Vogt and wife, Diane of Royersford, PA and Brian Vogt and wife, Kimberly of Tuscaloosa, AL; two step-children, Julie Weiss and husband, Brian of Bally, PA and Aaron Bolden and wife, Melissa of Pennsburg; four grandchildren, John, Holly, James and Ian; four step-grandchildren, Kyle, Conner, Benjamin and Oliva; and a sister, Diana Heffentrager.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a sister, Mary Ellen Vogt.

Due to the unprecedented circumstances presented by the COVID-19, we regret to inform you that the date for public calling hours and celebration of Doug’s life will be postponed to a later date. Once a date has been determined we will make every effort to provide adequate notice to all. Arrangements entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041.
