Obituary for William T. Wright Jr.
William T. Wright, Jr., 79, of Barto, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Sallie (Grater) Wright, sharing 56 years of marriage together.
Born in Upper Hanover Township, he was the son of the late William Wright, Sr. and Elizabeth (Medvetz) Wright.
William was a 1960 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1959. He was a union painter for local 641 Norristown, retiring in 2000. He was also a member and Past Master of the Perkiomen Lodge #595 F&AM; the Allentown Consistory, the Reading Rajah Shrine, the Reading Mid Atlantic Air Museum and a lifelong member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his time in the outdoors. He was also a Harry Potter and Disney fan, sharing many happy moments in Florida with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Matthew Wright of Barto; three daughters, Kimberly Dinsmore and husband, Timothy of Pottstown, Donna Wright-Manley of Stowe and Michelle Johnson and husband, Shawn of Birdsboro; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Joan Heidler and husband, Donald of Harleysville. He is predeceased by his son, Thomas William Wright.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Palm Schwenkfelder Church, 833 Gravel Pike, Palm, PA 18070. A visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 AM at the church prior to the service. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing when in the church.
