Anita M. Slye, formerly of Levittown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Arcadia at Limerick Pointe, at the age of 86. She was the cherished wife of the late Orville M. "Bud" Slye Jr., with whom she shared a remarkable 59 years of marriage. Theirs was a unique and inseparable bond, a testament to enduring love.
Anita's legacy lives on through her three devoted daughters: Cynthia A. Mellor and her husband George; Deborah L. Brady and her husband Jack; and Karen Karmilowicz and her husband N. Peter. She was the proud and loving grandmother to Kristine (Mellor) St. Martine and her husband Eric W.; Gregory Mellor; Shannon Brady and her fiancé Aldo Ledezma; Collin Brady; Courtney Bennett and her husband Haydon; Macey Karmilowicz; Peter Karmilowicz; and Chase Karmilowicz. Her joy was multiplied by her great-grandchildren: Nolan, Kennedy, and Romeo.
She was born in Washington D.C. to the late Melvin and Ursul (Smith) Hollidge and grew up alongside her younger brother, Gregg M. Hollidge, who precedes her in death.
Anita was a graduate of the University of Maryland, earning a degree in Early Childhood Education. As a dedicated teacher at Emily Methodist Preschool, Anita's joyful spirit and kind heart touched the lives of countless children. She also worked for many years as an administrator in her husband's business, Loss Control Associates before retiring.
Anita was known for her kind nature and her faith in God. She exemplified the importance of family in her love of her husband, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. Anita will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
To honor Anita's wonderful life, family and friends are invited to a visitation at Langhorne Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Gillam Ave., Langhorne, PA 19047 on May 15, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
