Ann Louise (Fox) Bauman, a beloved mother and grandmother, died on July 13, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital - Upper Bucks Campus in Quakertown after a sudden illness. She was 91.
Ann was born on May 14, 1935, in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Percival A. Fox and Erma K. Fox, née Urffer. She was the tenth child of twelve, including older siblings Esther Hallman, Bessie Kolb, Linwood Fox, Robert Fox, Mary Greulich, Harold (Holly) Fox, Donald "Shad" Fox, Margaret Pennepacker and Nancy Fox and younger sisters Marlene Bieler and Marian Stevens.
Ann grew up on Main Street in Pennsburg and attended Pennsburg High School until 12th grade, when the school combined with East Greenville to form Upper Perkiomen High School. She graduated in 1953. She played field hockey and basketball at both schools, earning varsity letters in both sports.
She met her husband, Donald L. "Cheeks" Bauman, in high school, and married in 1957. "Cheeks" was the owner and proprietor of John K. Bauman & Sons Paint Store in East Greenville, a family business and community institution that he operated until his death in 2004. They were married for 47 years.
Ann became a mother after giving birth to her first child, Keith, in 1958. The couple had three more children, Rebecca, born in 1959, Donna, born in 1964, and Sally, born in 1967. They settled in a family home in East Greenville, and spent summer vacations in North Wildwood, New Jersey. Ann was a devoted mother, remembered for her strong faith, helping others in need, her sense of humor, and her love of music and sports.
When her husband was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, Ann became a meticulous caregiver, helping him monitor his illness and supporting him through a kidney transplant and multiple surgeries. She also became a grandmother and took an active role in her grandchildren's lives as their Nana-serving first as babysitter, then their most cherished supporter at band and chorus concerts, dance recitals, baseball and basketball games, and Boy Scout award ceremonies.
Ann was a longtime active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, devoting countless hours working with the church's Altar Guild and WELCA, serving as an assistant Sunday School teacher, and singing in the choir, where her distinctive alto voice was easy to hear. She also worked as a special education aide at Upper Perkiomen Middle School and even volunteered as a teacher's aide in her daughter Donna's classroom at Hereford Elementary School. She spent years volunteering for Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center. She was a mainstay in many Upper Perkiomen Valley social organizations including the Golden Agers and the East Greenville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, where her son Keith served as a volunteer firefighter. She was also a dedicated sports fan and a lifelong follower of the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers.
Ann is survived by her children, Keith D. Bauman of East Greenville, husband of Denise, Rebecca A. Folk of Orefield, wife of William, Donna L. Ney of Zionsville, wife of Jeffrey, and Sally M. Bauman of Wyomissing, wife of Sandra, as well as her grandchildren Zachary P. Folk, Benjamin J. Ney, Adam J. Ney, and Jenna L. Folk. She was predeceased by her siblings Esther, Bessie, Robert, Mary, Linwood, Donald and Nancy.
A viewing will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 81 Main St., Pennsburg, PA 18073 from 9 to 10:45 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM. Burial will take place in St. Mark's Lutheran Church following the funeral service. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.
