It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and nana, Carol A. Whiteneck, who left us on April 22, 2025, her 82nd birthday. Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Carol lived a life full of purpose and devotion, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Carol dedicated her life to caring for others. Her compassionate spirit was evident during her years as a dietary aide at Nevis Nursing Facility, where she shared her kindness with the elderly. Later, she brought her work ethic and meticulous care to the role of housekeeper for Davis State Hospital and Service Master. Throughout her life, she embodied the virtues of hard work and dedication, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own.
Married to Carl R. Whiteneck for 47 joyous years before his passing in 2007, Carol drew strength and support from her family. She is survived by her children, Richard Whiteneck and wife, April, Judith Gerhart and husband, David and Mark Whiteneck and fiancé Tanya; her beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Kelly, Matthew, Katelyn, Branden and Tyler; and her great-grandchildren, Arianna, Alexis, Tanner, Aniyah, Kiaira, Ryleigh, Elena, Lyllian, Natalee, Kyeson and Michah. She is predeceased by a grandson, William, Jr.. Carol's greatest joy was found in her family. She took immense pride in cooking for family gatherings, with her specialty being her famous fudge, which brought everyone together in celebration.
An active member of the Boyertown Senior Center, Carol found solace and companionship in volunteering and participating in various activities, creating lasting friendships along the way. She had a zest for life, particularly enjoying travel to any destination with a beach.
The funeral service for Carol will be held at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home on April 26, 2025, at 11:00 am with a burial to follow in Palm Schwenkfelder Cemetery. A viewing will begin at 10 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice.
