Dr. Douglas Keith Atno, age 73, formerly of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, following an unexpected medical event, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Patricia Atno, with whom he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage.

Born to the late Ralph and Florence Atno, Doug was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the proud father of Alexis Jones, wife of Mark Jones, and Alisa Brey, wife of Justin Brey; and a brother to Deborah Atno-Shelton, wife of Ronald Shelton. He was also the father to many spoiled Dachshunds throughout his life. His greatest joy was being a grandfather to Luke, Sam, Jane, Ava, and Gunnar. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren-from cheering them on at youth sporting events to gathering together for family games and making memories that will be treasured for years to come.

Doug's professional life was marked by a deep commitment to serving others. He attended Grove City College before earning his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He practiced dental medicine on Main Street in Pennsburg for 40 years, building lasting relationships with generations of patients and becoming a trusted member of the community. He also served as an attending dentist and volunteer with the Department of Dental Medicine at Lehigh Valley Hospital, generously sharing his knowledge and expertise with others.

Faith and service were important parts of Doug's life. He was a dedicated member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, where he served on Consistory for multiple years.

Outside of his work and community commitments, Doug enjoyed being active and outdoors. An avid cyclist, he especially loved riding along the Perkiomen Trail, and even enjoyed a long bike ride the day before he passed.

Doug will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his profession, his faith, and his community, as well as for the love, laughter, and memories he shared with those around him. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and whose lives are forever better because he was part of them.

A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:45 followed by a memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Rd., East Greenville, PA 18041.
