Franklin Eidle Jr., 80, of Barto, PA, passed away suddenly on Monday, September 7, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. He was the beloved husband of Gloria A. (Shirey) Eidle, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
He was born in Englesville to the late Franklin M, and Edna M. (Moyer) Eidle. He was a1963 graduate of Boyertown Area Senior High School and after graduation served in the Navy in Florida before being honorably discharged.
After returning from his Navy service, Frank learned the masonry trade and eventually became a brick and block layer for the masonry union working various jobs in the Philadelphia area. In retirement, he spent summers cleaning buses for Quigley Bus Company to keep busy.
Frank was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ. He was also a member of Boyertown Rod and Gun Club. Frank was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting and was a member of Spunktown Hunting Club. In his earlier years, he bowled in the leagues at East Greenville Fire Co.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Dwayne Eidle (wife Leann), Dean Eidle (wife Kay) and Christine Ohlstein (husband Jeff); siblings: Larry Eidle (wife Leslie), Randy Eidle, Patricia Levan (husband Larry), Bruce Eidle (wife Doreen), Glenn Eidle, and Deborah Beaver (husband Charles); six grandchildren: Courtney, Taylor, Alexis, Carly, Tristan and Ella; sisters-in-law: Ginger and Susan Eidle and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dennis and Terry Eidle.
Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing to be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 9-10:45 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Rd., East Greenville, PA 18041. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank's memory to New Goshenhoppen UCC.
