Ida J. (Hagen) Sands, formerly of Pennsburg, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026 at LifeQuest in Quakertown at the age of 91. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold R. "Chick" Sands Sr., who passed away in 2009 after 56 years of marriage.

She was born in Philadelphia, the second of five children of the late Thomas J. and Mary Jessie (Riley) Hagen. Ida was a seamstress, initially operating her own business before taking positions with the Red Hill pants factory and then ultimately finishing her career with B.K. Upholstering until retiring.

Ida was an organized collector. She loved thrifting to find bargains in clothing and jewelry among her collections. Her love of sewing additionally led to other forms of crafting. Ida loved gardening, flower arranging and meticulously decorating her home for each season.

She is survived by her sons and their spouses: Terry L. and Donna Sands, of Coopersburg; Glenn S. and Barbara Sands, of East Greenville; Stuart W. and Debra Sands, of Charlotte, NC; and Harold R. Sands Jr. of Coudersport; grandchildren and spouses: Tracy Peart, Joshua Sands, fiance Kassia, Matthew and Caren Sands, Zachary and Lauren Sands, Emily Sands and fiance Chase, Michael Gaul, Jarod and Jennifer Sands, Rachael and Michael Mackie, Adam and Jenna Sands; great-grandchildren: Evan, Benjamin, Lukas, Glenn, Gavin, Carter, Luca, Addison, Raelyn, Ronin, Calvin, Preston, Claire, Caroline, Jacob, Noah, Gabriel, Olivia, Emily, Savannah, Nora, Nolan and Brady as well as many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by siblings: Thomas Jr., twins Stella and Stanley, and Mary Jane.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA from 9:00 to 10:30 AM with a service to honor her life at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Keely's Cemetery, Schwenksville, PA.
