Emblem

John B. Gibble, 84, of Zionsville, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Harry and Bernice (Shaner) Gibble.

John proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning his GED while in the service. His time in the military was something he held with great pride throughout his life. Following his service, John went on to work at Merck, where he dedicated many years before enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

John's greatest pride and joy was his family. He shared 47 years of marriage with his loving wife, Christine (Bogdon) Gibble. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. John was fiercely protective of those he loved and was always there to offer his support, whether it was asked for or not. He was a straight shooter who wasn't one for sugarcoating things, and you could always count on him for an honest opinion and a sarcastic remark. But once you earned a place in his heart, you quickly discovered the teddy bear beneath that tough exterior. His quick wit, playful sarcasm, and ability to keep everyone laughing were all part of what made him loved by many.

Sports were another big part of John's life. He was an athlete through school and was a boxer while he was the in Army. In his younger years, he spent countless hours coaching Little League teams, sharing his love of the game with the next generation. As the years went on, he traded his place on the field for a spot on the sidelines, where he became one of his grandchildren's biggest fans. He took great pride in cheering them on at their sporting events and celebrating their accomplishments.

An outdoorsman at heart, John was happiest when he had a house project to tackle, especially when it meant spending time alongside his brother or taking care of his lawn. He was an avid hunter and looked forward to the annual hunting trips with the Gibble men at the cabin in Milesburg, PA. John also enjoyed his time being a part of The Shamrocks Club, fishing and never passed up the opportunity to relax with a cold beer in hand.

For John, life was about family, sports, the great outdoors, and the simple moments shared with those he loved. He will be remembered for his strong personality, his unmistakable sense of humor, and, most importantly, the love and devotion he had for his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Christine; children, Michael Gibble and Beth Ann Zech (John); grandchildren, Wyatt, Ryker, Connor, Ryan and Abby; siblings, Nancy Farrell (Fuzz), Ronald Gibble, and Susan Murray (Geoff); and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:45 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM on Friday, October 30, 2026 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. A burial will take place in Limerick Garden of Memories.
