Larry R. Weiss

Larry R. Weiss, a cherished resident of the Upper Perkiomen Valley and a former resident of Pecks Pond in the Poconos, passed away on September 25, 2026, at the age of 86. Born in Macungie, PA, he was the son of the late Landon and Miriam (Neumoyer) Weiss. He treasured a partnership with his loving wife, Cheryl D. (Croissette) Weiss, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

A 1958 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School, Larry dedicated his life to the profession he loved-truck driving. From his early days as a milk truck hauler delivering to Lehigh Valley Dairies, he forged a remarkable career that included 38 years with Guy Heavener Trucking in Harleysville, concluding with his retirement from Larry Kratz Trucking in Sellersville. The open road was not just a job for Larry; it was a passion that brought him joy and fulfillment.

Larry's commitment extended beyond his profession as he was an active and devoted member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg. There, he volunteered and took on numerous roles, finding particular joy in his contributions to the Appalachian Service Project for over 20 years. His faith and service to others were hallmarks of his character.

A sports fan, Larry loved cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. He found solace and happiness in tinkering around his home, attending to yard work, and, most importantly, spending precious moments with his family. Larry delighted in watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow, and the love he fostered will live on in their hearts.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Cheryl; daughter, Yvonne Shoemaker (Rodney); sons, Brock Weiss (Sylvia) and Drew Weiss (Laurie); five grandchildren, Landon (Lisa), Ethan (Ashley), Olivia (Andrew), Colin (Brittany) and Blake; six great-grandchildren, Ava, Brayden, Dalton, Taryn, Rhett and Roland; his brother, George Weiss (Emiline); sister in law, Diane Schantz; brother in law, Tim Croissette (Janis); and nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 9 to 10:45 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul's Church Rd, Pennsburg, PA 18073. Burial will be private for immediate family. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.
