Mary Horoschak, a former resident of Bethlehem, PA for 60 years, passed away on March 10, 2026 at her daughter's home, just eight days shy of her 100th birthday. Born in St. Clair, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Mili) Prima.
Mary was the cherished wife of Joseph Horoschak for 55 years until his passing in 2013. As a 1944 graduate of St. Clair High School, she initially worked as a seamstress before embracing her favorite roles as homemaker and mother to daughters Nina and Christina.
Mary was an active member of the former Holy Trinity Orthodox Church of Catasauqua, where she and Joe were known for their many contributions, especially as chief organizers/bakers of the Church's Easter bread bake sales. Their signature Paska bread, kiffles, and nut rolls were sought after by the community.
A true animal lover, Mary had a special bond with her daughters' cats, especially her favorite, Kipper. She delighted in watching the wild birds, particularly cardinals, and spent many hours gardening, canning and preserving the fruits of her and Joe's labors. In her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing, reading and completing puzzles.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughters, Nina, wife of Christopher Bagshaw, and Christina, wife of William Reynolds; four grandchildren, Halle and Andrew Bagshaw and Stephanie and Billy Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings Leo Prima, Anna Prima, Helen Holoviak and Olga Bender.
Visitation will begin at 10AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM on Friday March 20, 2026 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Luke's Hospice, c/o Development Office, 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem, PA 18015.
