Robert "Bob" C. Lick, of Pottstown, passed away peacefully at the Sanatoga Center on May 2, 2026, just shy of his 93rd birthday. Born in Perkiomenville, PA, Bob was the son of the late Robert and Viola (Miller) Lick. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Minnie (Einsele) Lick, with whom he shared 45 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2014.
At the age of 19, Bob bravely answered the call of duty and served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean War. His military service took him to Guam, Japan, and Korea, where he played a significant role in the construction of Kimpo Air Base in Korea and Anderson Air Base in Guam, exemplifying his dedication and commitment to his country.
In his professional life, Bob contributed 33 years to Bethlehem Steel, where he worked across various locations, including Pottstown, Morgantown, and the Coke Oven Division. After his tenure at Bethlehem Steel, he continued to put his skills to use at American Olean Tile, Bally Case and Cooler, ultimately retiring from Wyndcroft School in Pottstown in 2002. Bob was a testament to the value of hard work and loyalty.
A simple man at heart, Bob found immense joy in the quiet pleasures of life. He loved spending time at home with his rescue dog, River, who provided companionship for the last five years of his life. He also cherished the moments spent with his family, great-grandchildren and had a passion for NASCAR.
Bob is survived by his son: Gary Rotenberger and wife, Shelly; grandchildren: Bradley and Brent Rotenberger and Abbey Haines (Ethan); great-grandchildren: Evangeline, Annalise and Elijah James Haines; brothers: Gene Lick (Diane) and Kenneth Lick; his sister-in-law, Betty Einsele (John); and many nieces and nephews.
