Ronald M. Wampole, a beloved lifelong resident of the Upper Perkiomen Valley, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Pennsburg, he was the cherished son of the late Francis and Ella Mae (Miller) Wampole.
Ronald graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 1954 and exemplified a spirit of dedication and service throughout his life. He served in the Army Reserves from 1954 to 1956 before enlisting in the Air Force, where he served until 1960 and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class. During his military career, Ronald took pride in his roles as a Basic Trainee Instructor at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and as an Administrative Clerk with the 98th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Dover AFB.
In his professional life, Ronald wore many hats. He served as constable for Pennsburg Borough for 12 years and contributed as a part-time police officer in Pennsburg, East Greenville, and Upper Hanover Township. His compassionate spirit extended to the community as he volunteered with the Upper Perkiomen Valley Ambulance as a driver for many years. After dedicating 36 years to Alderfer Bologna Company in the Food Processing of Smoked Meats department, Ronald retired as the Supervisor of Production in 2000. He then continued working for 17 years at Jacob Schmidt & Son as the Warehouse Supervisor.
A member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Ronald was also the former president of the Owls Nest #1302 and actively engaged in various local organizations, including fire companies, American Legions, and sporting associations such as the Upper Perk and Pike Township Sportsmen's Associations and the Hereford Gun Club.
Ronald leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love cherished by his beloved wife, Patsy Ann (Gerhart) Wampole with whom he shared 69 years of marriage; his son Dean Wampole and wife, Kim; his grandchildren: Jessica Walters, Karla Bayges, Blaine Piepszowski, Kristen Mandia, and Jordan Wampole; and his great-grandchildren, Aven, Leo, Quinn, and Miles. He is predeceased by his two beloved daughters, Pamela Wampole and LeAnne Piepszowski; and his three brothers and two sisters.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 AM followed by a memorial service at 11 AM on Friday, July 10, 2026 in the Auditorium at Frederick Living, 2849 Big Rd, Zieglerville, PA 19492.
