Ruth H. Sein passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, at the age of 88. Born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of the late Bartholomew and Helen (Foster) Fitzpatrick, Sr. Ruth was raised in Philadelphia, where she graduated from Little Flower High School in 1955 and later earned her degree in nursing.
Guided by a deep sense of compassion and dedication to others, Ruth enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a nurse. She worked in several hospitals throughout the Philadelphia area before relocating to Florida. There she concluded her nursing career in private practice, continuing to care for others with warmth and professionalism.
In retirement, Ruth embraced life's simple pleasures. She loved RV camping in Florida, painting ceramics-particularly her cherished garden gnomes-losing herself in John Grisham novels, and relaxing with her favorite television series, CSI and DIY. Above all else, however, family was the center of Ruth's world. After returning to Pennsylvania in 2013, she treasured the opportunity to be present for family gatherings, holidays, and milestones, and she was especially delighted with the time spent with her great-grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by her son, Martin Sein, and his wife, Sharon; her grandchildren, Bryan, Amber, and Elizabeth; her great-grandchildren, Nathan, AJ, Addison, Connor, Lucas, and Ju'Lani; her great-great-grandson, D'Mazi; many loving nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Audrey Kerwood. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Jennifer and Denise Sein; her great-grandson, DaSean; and her siblings, Edward, William, Bartholomew, Paul, Frank, Cass, and Marge.
A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to a favorite charity of the donor's choice.
