Susan Rose Harpel

Susan Rose (Bauman) Harpel, age 74, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Sellersville, PA, to the late Forrest H. and Rose (Duka) Bauman. Susan spent her life bringing joy and beauty to those around her.

Susan was a 1969 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. She loved being involved in tennis and was awarded all round athlete senior year. Following graduation from cosmetology school, she worked for Cornerhouse clothing company for a decade. After a few years at Holiday hair, Susan operated her own cosmetology business out of her home. She later worked for many years at Cleaver Physical Therapy until her retirement.

Susan was married to her devoted husband, Dennis G. Harpel, and would have shared 56 years of marriage on December 27th. They raised three children together, Nicole, Nathan and Westley, whom she loved dearly and cherished all the time spent with them. Susan's love for her family was boundless, always seeking to create joyful memories.

She was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville, where she was a former member of the friendship committee and outdoor ministry.

In her free time, Susan found joy in both vegetable and flower gardening, traveling annually to Wildwood and taking many memorable family trips including a motorhome trip out west. She also had a deep love for caring for all her pets, especially her beloved dog Bella.

Surviving in addition to her husband and three children, are a brother, Forrest Steven Bauman and wife, Beverly; and many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services are being held privately by the family. Arrangements were entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the National MS Society at www.nationalmssociety.org or to New Goshenhoppen UCC.
