William "Bill" Krauss, of East Greenville, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the age of 81 years old. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished pop-pop, who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Bill graduated from Upper Moreland High School in 1962, and shortly thereafter, he proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army; he always spoke fondly of being a soldier. After his honorable discharge, he married the love of his life, Jacqueline (Hood) Krauss, and together they embarked on a marriage that would have spanned 60 years this August 28th.
For 32 years, Bill worked at Hatfield Township Municipal Authority, where he served as a plant operator and contributed to the maintenance department. Even after retirement, his commitment to hard work continued as he spent seven years in property maintenance and overseeing the boat launch at Green Lane Park.
An avid outdoorsman at heart, Bill found joy in fly fishing and hunting, with a particular fondness for bear hunting. He cherished the annual hunting trips with his sons and friends, including unforgettable out of state excursions. Among his most treasured possessions was a cabin he built with his sons in Cameron County-a testament to his love for nature and family, where a lifetime of memories and adventures were made.
Bill also had a lifelong passion for building and drag racing cars, immersing himself in this thrilling hobby with enthusiasm and skill. Anyone who knew him, appreciated his dedication to home improvement. He remained active and engaged around his home, taking pride in his lawn care and building projects, always eager to tackle new challenges around the home.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife Jacqueline, two sons, Ron Krauss (Traci) and Bob Krauss (Jen); grandchildren, Hunter, Sammi and Jacob Krauss; and his great granddaughter, Eleia Jackson.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11:30 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA 18041 with a time to share memories immediately following.
