Taylor Fluharty-Braxton

  • About Taylor

    At the age of six, Taylor Fluharty-Braxton moved to the Upper Perkiomen Valley. Upon graduating from Upper Perkiomen High School in 2009, she went on to attend Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA where she graduated in 2013 with a Bachelors of Science degree. Inspired by a class titled "Death, Dying, & Grief," Taylor decided to complete a degree in Mortuary Science at Northampton Community College. As soon as the opportunity arose, Taylor seized the chance to return home and serve her community as a Funeral Director. She is a member of The National Funeral Directors Association, the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association, and the International Order of the Golden Rule. She is also a member of the Upper Perkiomen Business and Professional Women's Club and Shepherd of the Hills Church. She is the daughter of Mark and Adrienne (Nyce) Fluharty. She resides in East Greenville with her husband Matthew Braxton and golden retriever, Remi.


William E. "Bud" Harner IV

    William E. “Bud” Harner IV comes to the Upper Perkiomen Valley after serving as a funeral director for several communities in the Tri-County area since 1998. He is a 1994 graduate of Boyertown High School and earned his Applied Science Degree in Mortuary Science from Northampton Community College in 1997. He is a member of The National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and Berks County Funeral Directors Association. Locally, he is a member of New Ridge Fellowship, a member and Past Master of Boyertown Lodge #741 F&AM, Rajah Shrine, Board Member of Boyertown Midget Baseball League and Boyertown Area Wrestling Association. He and his wife Erica are residents of Boyertown and have twin daughters, Adison and Reagan and a son, Liam.


Carl F. Slonaker, Jr.

    Mr. Slonaker is a native of the Upper Perkiomen Valley. He graduated from the Upper Perkiomen High School in 1973. He then attended the Mortuary Science Program at Northampton Community College and graduated in 1985, with a degree in Applied Science and General Education. He is a member of the following organizations, New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville, The Upper Perkiomen Rotary Club, The Perkiomen Masonic Lodge # 595 F&AM, Tall Cedar's and The Shriners, and the Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce. Carl is also a member of The National Funeral Directors Association, The Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and The Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association, Pike Township Sportsman's Club and Hereford Gun Club. Mr. Slonaker also finds time to be an active member on the Board of Managers for the Freedom Valley Y.M.C.A. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf and is an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers and Phillies fan. He is married to Sheri Mann Slonaker, daughter of Sam & Mildred Mann, previous owner of the funeral home, has three sons, Steven, Christopher & Carson and is a grandfather to four grandchildren, Josh, Nathan, Emily and Grace.



Stephen M. Schofer

  • About Stephen

    Although Mr. Schofer grew up in Bethlehem, he has strong family ties to the Upper Perkiomen Valley area. Both his parents and grandparents resided in the Pennsburg and East Greenville areas. He is a 1986 graduate from Liberty High School and a 1991 graduate of the Mortuary Science Program at Northampton Community College with a degree in Applied Science and General Education. Steve joined the funeral home staff directly after graduation serving his intership with the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home. He is a member of the Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Red Hill Band, the Liberty Alumni Band and New Goshenhoppen Church Brass Ensamble. He is also a member of The National Funeral Directors Association, The Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and The Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association. Steve lives in Red Hill and is an avid cyclist and has a dog and two cats and is a member of The Professional Car Society. 



Sheri Mann Slonaker

  • About Sheri

    Sheri is the "Mann" representation of the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home and wife of Carl F. Slonaker, Jr.. Sheri's father, Samuel G. Mann was the original owner of the Mann Funeral Home. She joined the firm in 1995 as the Secretary and Treasurer of the corporation after working 14 years at Harleysville Insurance Companies. She has three sons, Steven, Christopher & Carson and is a grandmother to four grandchildren, Josh, Nathan, Emily and Grace.



George Smith

    George grew up in Folsom, PA, and was a 1959 graduate of Ridley Township High. He served in the United States Air Force for four years before returning to Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Robin, reside in Pennsburg. He has 4 children, Eric, Brian, Lauren, and Kyle and he has 2 grandsons. In 1994 George retired from Merck, where he was employed for almost 25 years. He is a member of Old Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ in Woxall. George is an active member of the Perkiomen Lodge #595 F&AM. Along with working at the funeral home, George is also a part time employee at Macoby Run Golf Course, where he is able to pursue another interest -- Golf. 



Barry Walker

  • About Barry

    Barry, aka "Butch" to his family, was born and raised in Sumneytown, PA. He graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 1963 and served in the United States Army from 1965-1967. He married his wife, Karen, in 1972 and they have four children and seven grandchildren. Barry worked at Merck for for 33 years before retiring in 2002. He is currently a member of the Boyertown Rod and Gun Club and he enjoys hunting, fishing, and trap shooting.



Craig Schuster

    Craig grew up in Marlborough Township and graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968 and married Mary Bauer in 1970. They have 2 children, Kevin and Andrea, and 5 grandchildren: Douglas, Elizabeth, Jacob, Oliver, and Alyssa. In 2012, Craig retired from Rodale, Inc. where he worked for 22 years. His favorite things to do are spending time with his grandchildren and working around his property. 



Don Swavely

  • About Don

    Don Swavely hails from the small town of Gilbertsville, PA and graduated from Boyertown High School in 1967. He served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1972. Married to Andrea for 47 years, they are the parents of two daughters. Daughter Becky, (Pastor at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sumneytown), is married to Kevin Schanely. Becky is mom to Erin and Alex and she and Kevin are anxiously awaiting the birth of twin boys in July. Daughter Rachel (a stay-at-home mom) is married to Fred Isett and they are parents to Lauren and Ryan. Don worked for Verizon for 38 1/2 years as a splicing technician and retired in 2007. He has worked for various funeral homes since that time. Don and Andrea attend St. John's Lutheran Church in Sumneytown. Don is also the treasurer for the cemetery at New Hanover Lutheran Church. Don prides himself on being a very generous neighbor, plowing snow and cutting grass for those in need.
