Obituary for Carl L. Fox

Carl L.  Fox
Carl L. Fox, 83, husband of Shirley M. (Schlicher) Fox, of Hereford, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014.

Born in Upper Hanover Township, he was a son of the late LeRoy and Rose (Kemmerer) Fox.

Carl was a 1948 graduate of East Greenville High School.

He worked as a pipe molder for 45 years, retiring from the former Eastern Foundry of Boyertown. In his younger years he was a school bus driver, a Little League baseball coach and was active in the Boy Scouts and Explorer Posts of East Greenville.

Carl was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, and the Upper Perkiomen Sportsmen’s Club. He also enjoyed fishing and clamming.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years, are three daughters, Linda, wife of Jeff Bloomer of Manassas, VA; Sally, wife of Mark Heimbach of Emmaus; and Kathleen, wife of Mark Moyer of Bechtelsville; brother, Clair Fox of Hereford and two grandsons, Matthew Heimbach and wife, Lisa and Stephen Heimbach and wife, Kellie.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Linwood and Theodore Fox.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with the Rev. Michael D. Jones officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends following the service. Burial will be private in the church cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to New Goshenhoppen UCC, “1959 Fund”, for the replacement of the Christian Ed building roof.
