Obituary for Eugene D. Hoffman
Eugene D. Hoffman, 68, husband of Linda M. (Imbody) Hoffman, Perkiomenville, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born in Sassamansville, he was a son of Virginia M. (Koch) Hoffman, Frederick and the late Daniel S. Hoffman.
He was the owner of Hoffman’s Lawn Service, Perkiomenville for over 30 years, retiring in 2011. Prior to that he worked at the former Firestone Tire & Rubber, Pottstown.
Gene was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Niantic, PA. He loved hunting, fishing, auctions and going to his cabin in Sullivan County. He was a member of Boyertown Rod & Gun Club and the NRA.
He served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 44 years this past September, are two children, Travis E. Hoffman and wife, Barbara, Boyertown and Tammy L. Hartline Doyle, wife of David Doyle, Boyertown; two sisters, Kay, wife of James Barr, Bechtelsville and Patricia, wife of Michael Moyer, Pottstown; six grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Hoffman, Teryn and Trey Hartline and twins, Daniel and Talie Doyle.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, PA 19504 with Rev. Matthew Ollikainen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
