Obituary for June Mae Sweinhart (Engle)

June Mae (Engle) Sweinhart, 82, wife of Richard S. Sweinhart, of East Greenville, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.

Born in East Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Arlene (Fritch) Engle.

During her lifetime she first worked as a butcher for the family business, Russell S. Engle’s Butchers, then she worked for many years at Bally Case and Cooler before retiring. After retiring she worked as the Secretary for Green Lane Borough and also enjoyed volunteering at the Community Thrift Shop and the Schwenkfelder Library.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pennsburg and a longtime member and Past Matron of Perkiomen Chapter #318, Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving along with her husband are two children, Deborah L. Smith and husband, Franklin J., and Bruce E. Sweinhart and wife, JoAnn, all of East Greenville; four grandchildren, Christopher F. Smith and wife, Debbie of Barto, Carrie H. Sposetti and husband, Jeff of Chester Springs, Audrey M. Sweinhart of Ardmore and Alyson L. Kurz and husband, Andrew of Lansdowne; and three great-grandchildren, Justin, Charlie and Danee. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Ralph Engle.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
