Obituary for Louis S. Heintz Sr.

Louis S. Heintz, Sr., 93, husband of Erna G. (Wiessener) Heintz, of Green Lane, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Pennsburg Manor.

Born in Perkiomenville, he was a son of the late Julius and Lydia (Karrow) Heintz.

He was a self-employed well driller for over 67 years operating Louis Heintz Well Drilling, Inc. He also worked for J.W. Rex in Lansdale as a millwright for 28 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and loved to hunt.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 67 years are five children, Louis S. Heintz, Jr. and wife, Carol of Spring Mount, Shirley Adams and husband, Jeffrey of Florida, Jerry Heintz and wife, Judith of Northampton, Judy Fitzgerald of Barto and William “Billy” Heintz of Green Lane; a brother, William Heintz and his wife, Helen of Telford; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Julius “Squeek” Heintz and a sister, Virginia Miller.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul’s Church Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073 with Rev. William A. Vanderslice officiating. Burial follows in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening, March 2, 2015 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 and also from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
