Esther Caroline (Calhoun) Moser, 85, widow of Paul E. Moser, Sr., of Red Hill, died March 18, 2015 in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.

Born in Marlborough Township, she was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Ida (Schoelkopf) Calhoun.

She was a 1947 graduate of East Greenville High School then earned her nursing degree at Montgomery Hospital graduating in 1950.

She worked as a registered nurse for Pottstown Hospital. Next she was Head of the Nursing Department at Pennsburg Manor until retiring in 1991.

She was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, the Upper Perkiomen Business and Professional Woman’s Club; volunteered at Quakertown Hospital and was active in both the Upper Perkiomen and Quakertown Senior Centers.

Surviving are two children, Paul Moser, Jr. and wife, Maureen of East Greenville and Melanie Miller and husband, Scott of Pennsburg; ten grandchildren, Paul III and wife, Maria, Susanne and husband, Mike, Mark, Michael and wife, Erin, Brendan and wife, Jennifer, Travis, Alyssa, Eric, Lee and Casey, and six great grandchildren, Andrew, Peter, John, Giulia, Gianna and Leara. Along with her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a brother, Harry Calhoun and two sisters, Virginia Rodenhouser and Betty Swenk.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with the Rev. Michael D. Jones officiating. Burial will be private in church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
