Obituary for Valentino Rudolph "Rudy" Giangiacomo

Valentino R. “Rudy” Giangiacomo, 87, of Barto, formerly of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at home.

Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Luigi and Antoinette “Jennie” (Toro) Giangiacomo.

He worked 35 years as a tester in the Plastics Lab at the former Firestone Tire and Rubber, then as a tipstaff at the Chester County Courthouse for 10 years retiring in 1995.

Rudy was a veteran of the US. Army and was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bally. He also was a member of the Reading Liederkranz, the Maria Assunta Lodge in Pottstown, the VFW and he enjoyed dancing.

Surviving are 4 children, Leo and wife, Kathleen, Casper, WY, Paul and wife, Leslie, Barto, Andrew and wife, Sherry, Fleetwood and Margaret, wife of Keith Masemore, Barto; a sister, Mary, wife of James Wigle, King of Prussia; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and companion Nancy Sieger, Mt. Penn. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence (Schertel) Giangiacomo, companion, Eve Kintzer, and siblings Vincent and Florence E Giangiacomo.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with the Rev. Jacob Masemore. A visitation will be held from 10 until 11 am prior to the service. Burial follows in Most Blessed Sacrament Cemetery. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
