Obituary for Dorothy E. Wahl (Walter)

Dorothy E. (Walter) Wahl, 88, widow of Carl M. Wahl, of Red Hill, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 in Pennsburg Manor.

Born in Pennsburg, she was a daughter of the late Monroe and Sally (Bartman) Walter.

She worked as a seamstress at the former Green Lane Hosiery for 42 years and after retiring she drove a school van for Levy Bus Company and Gross Bus Company and also worked as a van aide before retiring in 2006.

Dorothy was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Harleysville, East Greenville and Souderton Senior Centers and enjoyed bowling and playing cards and was a baseball and basketball fan.

Surviving are her two children, Bruce Wahl and Linda, wife of Darcy Sheaffer, all of Pennsburg; a brother, Frank Walter of Boyertown; a sister, Agnes, wife of Charles Zepp of Pennsburg and a grand-dog, Darla. Along with her husband, Carl and parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, LeRoy, Horace and Russell Walter and six sisters, Cara, Lucy, Marie, Florence, Harriet and Lillie.

The service and burial will be private. The Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA is in charge of the arrangements. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
