Obituary for Fay K. Whitmire (Hogland)
Fay K. (Billig) McMurtrie Whitmire, 93, of Pennsburg, formerly of Berwick, passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at home. She was the widow of Wilbur McMurtrie and Zane Whitmire.
Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Effie (Hoagland) Billig.
She was an office worker for Weiss Potato Chips for 16 years retiring in 1988 and a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Berwick.
Surviving are two sons, Jeff McMurtrie and wife, Diane of Pennsburg and David McMurtrie and wife, Sharon of Berwick; a sister, Anna Young of Lancaster, a sister-in-law, Betty Billig of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Justin, David, Callie and Jeff and six great grandchildren, Aidan, Liam, Kelly, Caitlin, Ella and Alexandra. Along with her husbands and parents, she is also predeceased by a brother, Robert Billig.
No services are planned. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville is in charge of the arrangements. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
