Obituary for Mary P Heimbach

Mary P. Heimbach, 90, of Macungie, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015 in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.

Born in East Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Paul O. and Lulu V. (Renninger) Heimbach.

She worked as a Bookkeeper for Eby Insurance Agency and the William H. Hacker Company in Allentown until retiring in 1994.

She was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church.

Mary was a member of the former Ebenezer E.C. Church in East Greenville where she was active in many offices and started their church library. She was Vice President of the Adult Missionary Society and Primary Superintendent, President of the C. E. Society, organist until retiring in 1989, and Financial Bookkeeper for the Church Treasurer.

She was also a member of the Auxiliary of the Lehigh Valley Hospital and a volunteer in the Pavilion Shop, the Tree Top shop and the Atrium Gift Shoppe at Lehigh Valley Hospital for 21 years. Mary also served on several committees for the Auxiliary’s annual May Daze.

She had many hobbies which included traveling, doing crafts and gardening. She knitted baby caps, blankets and booties and prayer shawls for Lehigh Valley Hospital patients and also enjoyed her weekly Bible Study Class and monthly fellowship playing games with her friends. She was always willing to reach out and help someone in need.

Surviving is a nephew, Stanley Heimbach, Jr. and his wife, Janet of Sinking Springs and two nieces, Louise, wife of Jerome Silverman of Yardley and Edith, wife of Tom Cohen of California. She was predeceased by siblings, Stanley Heimbach, Sr., Helen Heimbach and Mildred Meyerowitz.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, 1151 S. Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown, PA with Pastor Ron Erb officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30 a.m. 10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service. Burial will be private in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery.
