Obituary for Gary N. Hobson

Gary N.  Hobson
Gary N. Hobson, 68, of Pennsburg and formerly of East Greenville, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Dianne S. (Nunemacher) Hobson celebrating 42 years of marriage on August 3rd.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Wilfred N. and Bernice E. (Ludescher) Hobson.

He was a 1965 graduate of Roxborough High School; and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in England and Vietnam.

Gary worked in sales and service of Quality Control Equipment, owning and operating his own business, GNH Services in East Greenville, from 1983-2005. He also had worked for the Jones & Lamson Division of Waterbury Farrel - Textron.

He was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, the Upper Perkiomen Lions Club, and the Upper Perk Jaycees. His love of sports led him to coach both the track team and diving team for the Upper Perkiomen High School and work as a PIAA and FIFA Soccer Referee. He also had been Cubmaster for Pack #244 in East Greenville and most recently was on the Board of Directors for the Vineyards Community Association.

He will be sadly missed by his wife; son and granddaughters, Bradford J. Hobson and wife, Joni and their daughters, Madison and Makenzie of Pottstown and brothers, David Hobson and wife, Ann and Lee Hobson and wife, Sharon, all of Annapolis, MD.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Deborah Rahn Clemens officiating.
