Obituary for Kirt J. Schwenk

Kirt J. Schwenk, 65, of Barto, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of Anita F. (Schultz) Schwenk celebrating 41 years of marriage.

Born in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late John J. and Elva J. (Bytheway) Schwenk. He was a 1969 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School. He worked in the wood finishing department at Knoll, Inc in East Greenville for 49 years.

Kirt was an avid Jake’s Flea Market fan and enjoyed car shows. He never missed a Corvette for Kids event. He was also a member of Calvary UCC in Barto.

Along with his wife, Kirt is survived by his children, Victoria K. Derstine of Pennsburg, David K. Schwenk and wife, Amanda of Bechtelsville and Lucas J. Schwenk and wife, Michelle of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Andrew, Levi, Amelia and Noah and his brother, Marshall Schwenk and wife, Barbara of Machipongo, VA. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by an infant brother.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Calvary UCC Church, 1231 Rt. 100, Barto, PA 19504. Burial follows in Christ Union Cemetery in Niantic. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10-11:45 a.m. on Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041. Offer sympathy to the family on our website at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
