Obituary for Verne L. Schmoyer (Styer)
Verne L. (Styer) Schmoyer, 88, widow of Linford C. Schmoyer, of Mt. Airy, NC, formerly of Pennsburg, PA, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Central Continuing Care in Mount Airy, NC.
Born in Pennsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Annie (Conrad) Styer.
Verne was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Senior Center in Pennsburg where she loved to play bingo. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping and going to the casinos.
She is survived by her children, Linda D., wife of Paul Romano of Mt. Airy, NC and Barry L. Schmoyer and wife, Kathy of Green Lane, PA; grandchildren, Shawn Kehley and wife, Wendy, Teresa, wife of Jimmy Hall, Melissa, wife of Kevin Anderson and Justin Day and wife, Katelynd; great-grandchildren, Christopher Kehley and wife, Christina, Michael Kehley, Emily Kehley, Holdin Hall, Brayden Hall, William France, Garrett France and Brayden Sawyers; great great-grandchildren, Cameron Kehley, Madelyn Kehley, Jeremy Day, Natalie Day and one little boy on the way and sisters in law, Angie and Edna Styer.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by siblings, Harvey Styer, Helen Oskowski, Beulah Frey, Catherine Smith and Warren Styer, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Debra Timmins officiating. Burial follows in Pennsburg United Church of Christ Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
