A Pretty Cool Guy

It's hard to say how I first came into contact with Robert and Joan but I think it was through Harry Wood and his Dad. My father too had a long business relationship with Harry on Wall St. Most of my conversations were over the phone for years with Robert - though I did meet him in person at Harry passing. When I first started talking to Rob it was a little hard to get him to say much - a man of few words but nice. Over the years we would chat more and more for longer periods of time - slowly about daily life - the markets - cars - trucks especially and health issues . He even sent me a picture of his special Ice Cream Truck when I asked what it looked like ! Now this may not sound too interesting to you yet but I have many relatives in Pennsylvania - Pottstown - Norristown - Flowertown . Many Uncles and Aunts and Cousins . When I once commented to Donna or Carol about great conversations and long ones with their Dad they were surprised - it turns out he usually kept it short. Well I can tell you I've had a few Pennsylvania Uncles just like that at family gatherings so it was a point of pride too have those conversations with Robert . He loved so much about antique cars and trucks and you could tell he loved Joan and his kids a great deal. He was old school - a man of his word - good hearted - had a depth of knowledge about areas he cared about and shared them with others - an ability to come back from adversity and not be give it a second thought - just on with his life. So I must say I am a little annoyed he decided to leave a lot earlier than I thought he would - I still wasn't finished having conversations with him ! God Bless. Love and prayers from my family to yours - thank you for sharing him me.
