Obituary for James Earl Pierce

James Earl  Pierce
James E. Pierce, 91, of Barto, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria (Strauss) Stierly Pierce for the past 15 years and the late Clara F. (Eigleson) Pierce.

Born in Wayne, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph M. and Florence (Hollis) Pierce.

He was an electrician retiring from Penn Supreme Dairy in Lancaster in 1987 and was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II.

He was a member of Bethany E.C. Church in Clayton and Warren Lodge #310 F & A M, Collegeville.

Surviving along with his wife, are two sons, Marcus L. Pierce of Morris, PA and Wayne T. Pierce of Idaho; a daughter, June F., wife of Ray Kelius of Pottstown , PA; a sister, Jane Wildermuth of Flatrock, NC; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Along with his parents and first wife, he is predeceased by twin sons, Timothy Leon Pierce and James Earl Pierce II; three brothers, Robert, Joseph and Paul Pierce; and six sisters, May Barber, Helen Newman, Florence, Myrtle Ledger, Mary Puffenburger and Thelma Pierce.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA with Rev. Dennis L. Brubacher officiating. Burial follows in George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
