Obituary for Charles E. "Rick" Klayman

CHARLES E. KLAYMAN

Charles “Rick” Eric Klayman, 65, husband of Digna E. (Urquiza)
Klayman, of East Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in
St. Luke’s Hospital, Quakertown.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Max C. and Caroline
H. Klayman.

He was currently working at MDCI, Hatfield as an automated postal machine assembler
for nearly three years. Prior to this, he worked for Tru-Spec in Honduras for over two years, Solar Light Co. in Philadelphia and as Vice-President of Instrumentation Associates, a medical equipment company, in Upper Darby.

He also held licenses as a real estate agent, EMT, private pilot and ham radio operator.
He served as a volunteer for the Heifer International, which also employed his wife Digna. He taught electronics at the Honduran National Vocational Training Institute, volunteered at many fundraisers, and adopted several greyhound dogs. Also helped founded the building of Las sonrisas de los niños (The Smiles of the Children), a humanitarian organization in the village of Cacao outside la Ceiba, Honduras.


He was a member of Bally Mennonite Church and a veteran of U.S. Air Force. He was known as a good soul, a wonderful husband, father, friend, and very generous to everyone he met.

Surviving along with his wife are two sons, Charles P. Klayman of
Carbondale, IL, and Gabriel M. Klayman of Doylestown, PA; a daughter,
Patricia Klayman and her husband, Robert Datum of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law,
Ronald Rosenberg of Philadelphia; cousins, Carla Heikin of Philadelphia,
and Charles Klayman of New Jersey; aunt, Dorothy Heikin and uncle
Harry and aunt Mildred Blask of Elkins Park; his former wife Lili Pettigrew of Norristown, PA.

He was predeceased by his sister, Robin Rosenberg.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3rd at
Bally Mennonite Church, 1481 Route 100, Bally PA, officiated by Rev.
Wayne Speigle. Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 10
to 11 a.m. in the church.
