Obituary

David E. Manion, formerly of Green Lane, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown PA. He was 75 years old.

Born in Philadelphia on April 7, 1944 to the late George and Winifred (Williams) Manion. David and his brother George were placed into the foster care system and were welcomed into the loving home of Charles and Evelyn Reihman in 1952.

David graduated from Upper Perkiomen High School in 1963 where he excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He received numerous accolades in football and baseball. After high school he went to work as a production worker at Boise Cascade Group, East Greenville. David also worked as a bartender at the Red Hill Fire Company for several years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sumneytown PA.

David was known to all as quick witted and ready to lighten the mood with a joke. Dave enjoyed playing golf, socializing with his friends at the Sumneytown Hotel and watching the Eagles and Phillies. David continued to live on the Reihman Farm until 2015.

He is survived by a sister in law: Phyllis Manion, nieces: Kris Manion, Sue Fies and Lisa Todd, nephews: Jay Manion and Tom Manion, foster brother: Clare Reihman, foster sister: Nancy Harris, and many foster nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his brother George T. Manion, half-brother Harry Bowers Jr., foster parents Charles and Evelyn Reihman, foster siblings John and George Still, Geraldine Flick Davis, Joyce Flick Connell, Wayne Hoffman, Janice Hoffman Uhl and Robert Wagner.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 11 AM at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA. Calling time is from 10-11 AM. Officiating will Rev. Rebecca Schanely. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Diakon Adoption and Foster Care, 1 South Home Ave., Topton, PA 19562 Online condolences may be recorded at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com Arrangements are by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA.

So sorry for your loss , Dave will be remembered for the fun loving man he was , he will be missed by all . We spent many nights and weekends playing softball and what a great time we had . Rest In Peace always . Love , Jody and Sher Koch

David was a classmate of mine and his personality and humor brought lots of joy to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed.

When I think of Dave , I think of growing up as we were best friends from grade school, rihmans farm , a dog name chuckles , and all the great times we had right thru high school , you will be missed , RIP. old friend
