Obituary for Harold F. Snyder

Harold Francis Snyder, 86, loving husband of Gertrude G. (Bauer) Snyder, of Chestnut Street, Bally, PA, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at home. He and his wife just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this past Sunday, October 4, 2009.

Born in Pennsburg, PA, he was a son of the late Clement D. and Elizabeth (Lick) Snyder.

He worked at SciCast, retiring in 1993. Prior to that he was employed as a laborer for Bally Block then after many years became a custodian for Most Blessed Sacrament Church.

He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Bally, PA. He was also a member of the Pike Township Sportsmen’s Association, Oley, PA, and the Bally, Barto and New Berlinville Fire Companies.

Surviving along with his wife are a son, John H. Snyder and his wife, Antoinette of Barto, PA; three daughters, Joanne M., widow of Randy Johnson of Bally, PA, Darlene C., wife of Perry Moyer of Barto, PA and Dorothy H., wife of Joseph Gehringer of Barto, PA; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Charlotte; a brother and five sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, PA with Monsignor Edward J. Coyle officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing in the church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Most Blessed Sacrament Church.
