Obituary for Mary Alice Schofer

M. Alice (Baseley) Schofer, widow of Paul N. Schofer, formerly of East Greenville, entered her heavenly home 4 days after her 90th birthday in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Tracey C. and Mary Elizabeth (McKnight) Baseley.

She worked as a seamstress at the former Rosenau Brothers in Red Hill, sold Avon and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center where she taught a Bible Study program and belonged to the morning swim group and she was a driver for Meals on Wheels for 25 years.

She was a lifelong member of the former Ebenezer E.C. Church in East Greenville and was currently a member at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church.

Surviving are 3 sons, Tracey P. Schofer and wife, Dale I. of Upper Marlboro, MD, Leslie D. Schofer and wife, Connie Y. of Forest, VA and Timothy C. Schofer and wife, Diane R. of Schnecksville; a daughter, M. Eileen, wife of Arlington Supplee of Northfield, VT; 2 brothers, William Baseley & wife, Carolyn of Pottstown and Richard Baseley and wife, Helen of Thurmont, MD; 5 sisters, Irene Hamman of Bluffton, OH, Ada Yoder of Allentown, Elsie, wife of Eugene Miller of Red Hill, Edna Shelly of Harleysville and Betty Cattermole of Wernersville; 6 grandchildren, Jane Swann, Paula Rudmann, Alisa Turk, Jim Schofer, Stacy Merriam and Danica Schofer and 6 great grandchildren, Paul, Kevin and Andrew Swann, Victoria and Lauren Schofer and Amanda Turk. A sister, Judy Stevenson predeceased her.

A Memorial Service will be held 12 Noon on Friday, October 2, 2009 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Philip Walck officiating. Family and friends may call 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Hosensack E.C. Cemetery.
