Obituary for Neil L. Sweatt

Neil L. Sweatt, 84, widower of Betty A. (Christman) Sweatt, formerly of Pennsburg, died Wednesday at Chestnut Knoll, Boyertown.

Born in Clarksville, New Hampshire, he was a son of the late Haven and Mary (Hillegass) Sweatt.

He was the owner and operator of Heimbach and Sweatt Chevrolet, Pennsburg for 35 years retiring in 1987. He was a lifelong member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, East Greenville. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He also served on Pennsburg Borough Council for 8 years. He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre.

Survivors include a daughter Roxanne M. Cashatt of East Greenville; a son, Perry N. Sweatt and his wife, Cheryl of Pennsburg; his companion, Anna Mae Houck of Douglassville; 2 brothers, Glenn L. Perry of Colebrook, N.H. and Harold Perry of West Stewartstown, N.H.; a sister, Glenwyn Stewart of Lebanon, N.H.; 2 grandchildren, Corinne S. Kulp and her husband, Jason and Joshua T. Cashatt and 2 great grandchildren, Tyler and Kayla Kulp Along with his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Richard Stevens.

The Graveside Memorial Service is private.
