Robert C. Hoffman, 78, of Barto died Saturday, October 2nd at Phoebe Health Care Center, Richlandtown, PA. He was the loving husband of Gladys J. (Shelly) Hoffman of 56 years of marriage on October 10th.
Born in Barto, he was a son of the late Edgar B. and Annie (Kriebel) Hoffman.
He was a dairy farmer at his own family farm in Barto where he and his son worked together for many years. Later, he was a truck mechanic last working for William R. Gift, Inc., Boyertown, retiring in the early 1990’s. He was a life member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church where he served as a deacon, a member of the Over The Hill Gang of Palm Schwenkfelder, a member of Bally Sportsman’s Association and he loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Surviving along with his wife, is a son, Joel C. Hoffman and wife, Janet L. of Barto; a sister, Lenore H. Stauffer and husband, Wallace of East Greenville; two grandchildren, Nevin J. and Nadine L. Hoffman of Barto. He was predeceased by a brother, Horace; and three sisters, Ruba, Erma and Mae.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Palm Schwenkfelder Church, 833 Gravel Pike, Palm, PA 18070 with Rev. Nicholas L. Pence, Jr. officiating. Interment to follow in Palm Schwenkfelder Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, in the church.
