Memories

Not so much a story but oh so many memories come to mind because he was always there... His Rusty Jones VW...How happy he was when he picked up his Marty dog from the pet shop… and how he was his little buddy. He went everywhere with that dog...Yard work every weekend at my parents house and how he never got mad at us but Kelly could always make him shake his head right before my dad had enough of them fooling around and sent her inside (exactly were she wanted to be!)... His face when Kelly drove dad’s John Dear into the side of the garage door frame. It was priceless... Teaching me to dive and the hours he would sit by the pool so I could swim... His snoring!... The loud hiccup thing he would do… made us laugh every time... The crazy foods he loved.Souse,I shutter even thinking about it... He was the man with 9 lives. He would be in the worst shape and go into the hospital and 5 days later walk out like he just took a vacation. Ready for the next round... Buying us something at the Acme at the shore so we didn’t tell Nana he was sitting over on a bench eating his caramel popcorn... Riding in his convertible with his matching red hat... No matter how many times you came to visit he would always say don’t forget were I live… 108 Walnut Street... He never hesitated to take us anywhere. Roller skating parties in grade school,Kelly to a Michael Jackson concert, he liked to be needed... How mad he was that he wasn’t sitting on the porch for the bank being robbed in Green Lane... I can’t remember one time he every really yelled at or got mad at us kids, maybe a shake of the head but never mad... My favorite memory was being able to tell him I was pregnant and how happy and excited he was to have Great Grandchildren especially 4 all at once with Kelly expecting too. His face glowed when he got to hold a 4 day old Alan for the first time. His face lit up, he just glowed. He was a great Pop. He was our “Pop-tart and he is definitely missed…
