I love this picture of Uncle Gery. That is how I will remember him. I spent my childhood sitting in Aunt Betty's shop watching her work on hair. The dispatch radio was always on. Uncle Gery was always involved in the fire house. I thought of him as a gentle quiet man with an easy laugh. He stayed involved in many things from his volunteering to taking classes in the city. When he first went into the hospital this year I took Aunt Betty to visit him. His eyes lit up when he saw her and he held her hand. What a great man.
